Rep. Pettengill Announces Jobs Databank
(DES MOINES)—Rep. Dawn Pettengill (R-Mount Auburn) today announced information on an updated website, www.iowajobs.org a service of the Iowa Workforce Development (IWD) and Iowa Department of Economic Development. The site is primarily designed for Iowa employers to post all of their available job opportunities as well as a clearinghouse for jobseekers. The site also contains information on upcoming job fairs, labor market information, and a business directory.
New features of the website include job scraping technology, which allows the Iowa Workforce Development employees to pull jobs automatically from employers’ websites and place them directly onto the iowajobs website, which has already considerably increased the number of jobs listed on the website. This updated technology is sure to increase opportunities for connecting unemployed Iowans with employers searching to fill positions.
“I’m encouraged by this new technology and updated information. It’s important for the economic vitality of the state of Iowa that we fill the jobs needed by our employers,” said Rep. Pettengill. “I would like to make all Iowa businesses aware of this service and I’d encourage them to utilize the website to post any available opportunities. Also, if you’re in need of a job, please use this website to find the most up-to-date job information available.”
The website is one piece of Iowa’s overall marketing effort to attract new Iowans to the state and keep Iowans here at home. For more information visit www.iowajobs.org or call 1-800-JOB-IOWA.
