12/4/2008
(DES MOINES)—House Republican Leader Kraig Paulsen (R-Hiawatha) has appointed Rep. Dawn Pettengill (R-Mount Auburn) as Ranking Member of the House Ethics committee.
"Rep. Pettengill is a strong leader, a good listener and a hard worker," said Leader Paulsen. "I am confident that she will be a tremendous asset to the House Ethics committee."
Pettengill, who is serving her third term, will also serve on the House Commerce, State Government, and Ways and Means committees. She will also serve on the newly formed, Rebuild Iowa committee which has been designated to address recommendations from the Rebuild Iowa Advisory Commission and specifically geared to help Iowans recover from the natural disasters which occurred this summer.
"I look forward to being a leader on the Ethics committee," said Pettengill. "I'm committed to bringing fresh and honest ideas to the Statehouse and reaching across the aisle to work in a bipartisan manner."
The Iowa Legislature convenes January 12 of next year.
