PETTENGILL APPOINTED TO THE IPERS BOARD
3/6/2009
(DES MOINES)—This week Rep. Dawn Pettengill (R-Mount Auburn) was appointed to the Iowa Public Employee Retirement System (IPERS) board.
Pettengill, who was first elected in 2004, has a professional background and extensive knowledge in government finance, accounting, business, and the investment area. She is also a former mayor and city councilwoman.
“I’m very proud to be able to serve on the IPERS board,” said Pettengill. “I will work hard to protect Iowans’ retirement money, root out fraud, and bring new ideas to the table.”
The investment board is an 11-member public body which establishes policies and hires professional service contractors for IPERS’ investment and actuarial programs. Pettengill will serve for two years on the board.
