End of Session News 2005
9/18/2007
Dear Friends and Neighbors, I hope this email finds all of you well! What a great week. I tried to get caught up on some things at home and am back at my job at Principal Financial Group. Some would dread having to go back to work after almost five months, but I was looking forward to it. I work with a wonderful group of people, the job is challenging and I get paid well. What else could a person ask for, right? Well...what's happened in the last few weeks at the statehouse? It's been an up and down month. It seemed we were all working together at the beginning of May, then we stalled and all wondered if we'd ever agree on a budget. The Governor stepped in and met with House and Senate leaders our final week and finally, some middle ground was found. I have to admit, I'm very pleased at the middle ground results and voted for every budget bill as they came up. While knocking on doors last summer, jobs, education and health care were issues you cared about. We addressed those issues and more. Then on Friday, May 20th at 11:30 PM we adjourned for the year. Speaking of knocking on doors, don't be surprised if I knock on yours this summer. That's absolutely the best way to find out what you need and I love to visit even if there isn't anything bothering you. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. My phone number at home is 475-2276. I'll be at work during the day, but leave a message and I'll call you as soon as I get home. Or you can email me at this address. I will check my email several times during the day. Also, I'll continue sending a newsletter. It will go out at least once a month to keep you informed of state happenings. Stay in touch and have a great summer! Dawn
