Pettengill Seeks Fourth Term in Iowa House
(MOUNT AUBURN)—Rep. Dawn Pettengill (R-Mount Auburn) announced today that she will be seeking re-election to the Iowa House this fall. Pettengill represents all of Benton County and three townships in Iowa County.
“We deinitely face some difficult times as a state, but in that difficulty there are great opportunities. We must be proactive when it comes to job creation and prudent when it comes to taxpayers’ money,” said Pettengill. “I will continue to work to rein in wasteful government spending and bring transparency and openness to state government.”
As a former two-term mayor and a prior two-term city councilwoman, Pettengill works to preserve and protect Iowa’s small-town way of life. Pettengill is active in her community with the Vinton Lions Club, the Belle Plaine Optimist Club, and organizes the program for the Mt. Auburn Flag Day Celebration, which she established.
Dawn has two sons, Jon and Nick and one granddaughter.
“Dawn works hard for Iowa’s rural communities. She’s a tremendous listener and a leader in the House,” said House Republican Leader Kraig Paulsen (R-Hiawatha).
In the House, Pettengill serves as the Ranking Member of the Ethics committee. She also serves on the Ways and Means, Commerce, Rebuild Iowa and State Government committees as well as the Transportation, Infrastructure and Capitals Appropriations subcommittee.
